(Syn)- Tactic

As group Syntactic, we interpreted the given competition brief that the given design task is not only assigning us the design of the spirala community house building itself but rather asking for a higher & complex organization within the site, in which all users can be a part of the “cycle” as we interpret the term “spiral” as spirala. Our primary aim is to satisfy the harmonious life of the users with nature, as the primary necessity of self-sustaining eco-village. To achieve that we decided to approach the problem from different scales that complement each other. The first emphasis of the project is on the upper scale: the space layout problem in the organization of the total site. The algorithm designed for upper scale-space layout; aims to achieve high interconnectivity in the space network by applying space syntax methodology with reference to rhizome as a biological concept. Which enables to satisfy the spatial requirement and site necessities for each different program element, while maintaining the primary goal of integration. Secondly, the building scale design decisions consider environmental performance criteria both in the spatial organization level as well as with the kinetic building components. Also, the use of kinetic components enables users to integrate with their surroundings
