Space Dividers Workshop
16-20.04.2012 | İTÜ
Instructors: Milena Stavric (TU Graz)
Organizers: S. Alaçam, E. Gürer
You are currently visiting the workshop web page, presenting the students work from the Istanbul Technical University, Architectural Design Computing Graduate Program. The main field of this workshop is parametric design with the special topis “Space Dividers”. During this workshop, students will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the parametric design, nurbs geometry, advanced digital capabilities of parametric design and a chance to fabricate their prototypes in a form of scale models.
Based on the seventeen wallpaper groups, the students will try to extend a two-dimensional ornament into a digital three-dimensional ornamental pattern using appropriate mathematical and geometrical rules. Three – dimensional pattern is a “brick” that we will use for space dividers assembly. We will establish a digital flow from design to fabrication using parametric modelling and laser cutting.
