BIO: M. Erdem Kabadayı received his bachelor’s degree in economics from METU and his master’s degree in economics from the University of Vienna, and then completed his doctorate in the field of Ottoman history at Munich University. His associate professorship is in the economic history and the economic history thought. Until 2016, he worked on the economic history as well as finance and labor history. As of 2016, he carries out his research project titled “Industrialisation and Urban Growth from the mid-nineteenth century Ottoman Empire to Contemporary Turkey in a Comparative Perspective, 1850-2000” (ERC-StG 679097, https://urbanoccupations.ku.edu.tr/) within the scope of the European Research Council, the Horizon 2020 program in the History Department of Koç University. The project was the first in the field of history in Turkey, funded with a budget of approximately 1.5 million Euros for 5 years.
