BIO – Tamir El-Khouly
Tamir El-Khouly is Assistant Professor of Architecture, Digital Communication and Building Information Modeling, Ain Shams University and The American University in Cairo, Egypt, where he teaches both undergraduate and graduate levels.
He holds a PhD in Built Environment from Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London (UCL).
His research focuses on the areas of studies of the design process, creative cognition, space syntax, and architecture computing. He participated in research projects with the Space Syntax Lab, at Bartlett School of Architecture from 2007 to 2015, and Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources BSEER in 2015, University College London, then moved on to do postdoctoral research at Dyson School of Design Engineering in 2016, Imperial College London, United Kingdom.
His professional experience extends to being involved in the design and implementation of architectural projects in the UK and Egypt by working with prominent architectural firms and his own. This qualified him to obtain an architectural consultant license from the Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers in 2021.
